I had a residency at the Sail and Anchor hotel in Fremanltle,(Aus),in the early 80s.
And this big USS aircraft carrier had recently docked nearby.
There were American sailors every where.
While we were playing late one night, a very polite but extremely drunk sailor offered us $20 if we would play "Wild Thing".
No worries I said, and we played it for him. Then he come back up and offered another $20 if he could sing it with us.
Hey we needed the money, so he sang it, and when it finished he said "lets do it again, here's another 20". OK, the crowd was diggin it, so we went again.
Bet you can't guess what he did when we finished?
Yep, another 20 bucks.
Now this story might not sound so bad, but the sailor sure did.
To this day if I hear Wild Thing, I start to sweat and cringe.

Haha, I knew a guy who used to do that with Guns & Roses - Welcome to the Jungle, never offered up money though, lol

There's a local guy that plays that covers a lot of Neal Diamond. While drunk one night, he asked for help from his "horn section" and pointed to our table (we were a bit loud, but the guy loved us cause we'd always get everyone pumped). So he sang Sweet Caroline, and when he'd come to "ooh sweeeeeeet Caroline", we'd go "Bah bah baaaaaaah". Eventually had the whole place doing it with us. Some guy went up and gave him a 20 to do it again. LOL
