When I strum my guitar, the strings keep knocking together and it makes a really horrible sound...but my friends tell me that it doesn't sound bad...I wanna play loud, but I wanna play good, too! What should I do? :confuse:

Grab ya a set of 18's and slap 'em on there. That oughta keep you from slappng 'em together :D and yeah, how Hard are you strumming for your strings to hit each other? Or do you mean hitting the fretboard? You could adjust your action as well as go just one step heavier in guage of strings.

It's not so much the strings as just the bass E string...it's so loose, but the sound's right. A lot of it's the strings knocking against my fingernails, but no matter how I position my fingers, it keeps happening. u.u

I don't know about gauges, but I tune with a digital tuner and apparantly, according to my parent the strings don't need to be replaced yet.

Try taking it to the Lynwood Guitar center.. they are pretty good. I think you might have a set up problem

Ooh, I found out the problem. I've outgrown my guitar...how bizzare is that? It's like growing out of a pair of shoes apparantly...
