to slap or not to slap?
i know it's usually a funk deal, but we've been using it in blues. sounds pretty good if you do it right... panatonic riff with a few slaps thrown in there.

Slap is great. Its just another way of playing bass that happens to be used alot in funk music. However it can be used for anything. I use it and i don't play in a funk band so there ya go.

No. Well only if I'm by myself playing and I get REAL bored.

It's alright. Sounds much cooler on a big upright than it does on an electric though.

meh. i'm not a fan of picking a bass. i figure picks are for guitars, fingers are for bass's. bass's were made to be plucked.

Yeah, me too, except for when you really want a "THUD" "THUD" sound that comes from a muted pick.

i like my thud thud sounds to come from throwing incompetent vocalists across the room.
