I wonder.......I love solo fingerstyle but, does anyone else? This genre allows so much lattitude and lends itself to being able to play lead and accom. at the same time. It seems that almost any tune can be made to be musical.

Flamenco and Spanish style lends itself to solo type playing.

I fingerstyle a lot even if it's just a pick and one or two other fingers to add to most songs, which is basically arpegiation(<is that a word?) but using the fingerstyle stuff.

arpegiation

sounds a bit painful...need some colonic irrigation there, :flush:  :D

I arpegiated....

Stop arpegiing!

Two words: Adrian Legg

Ive advocated this guy on this forum so many times. I am listening to him right now actually. Hes an amazing guitarist and was voted best fingerstyle guitarist by GuitarOne magazine and he deserves it! He writes albums of solo acoustic guitar instrumentals. He combines classical, folk, flamenco, country, rockabilly, and jazz into his own great style. I have to complain about his sound though. He uses an electric/acoustic hybrid, its custom and sounds a little too twangy for my tastes and in his most recent stuff he has been using midi and cheezy effects which I really dislike in that style.

This guy seems to have a similar style to Legg, and I like what I hear. I still think Legg has more technical and musical composition skill, but I appreciate the fact he is using an acoustic guitar instead of the TwangBox Legg uses. I will check out more of his stuff.

I just saw and heard Legg in the May issue of GuitarOne on their CD. He can fingerpick like mad, maybe not as fast as some of the flamenco guys though.

And yeah I don't really like his sound, it's way too high pitched, and when something buzzes it sounds like somone scratching a knife over a ceramic dinner plate.
