Wooh, graduation time already? It seems my 3/4 size Castilla can't handle me anymore! Guess that means it's time for a full size guitar.

The funny thing is that it kind of makes you think of guitars as shoes! :lmao:

It must be a lot like what I'm going through right now. Does anyone watch Spongebob Squarepants? It's like that episode where Spongebob's fingers were too big to dial Sandy's number. With my size of guitar, it's frusterating like that. :_ohwell:

I know what you mean; my mom is concerned that my hands are going to be too small to play the big guitars, but you know what, I think I'm ready for it. I mean, hey, we all gotta move up to it sometime. Besides I'm tired of only being able to apply nylon strings.

yeah i get you, and eventually you kinda learn how to deal with the guitar being to big and your fingers ajust, bar chords still suck to play though lol

I hope I will too. I hear the bigger guitars sound really nice!

practice night after night eventually you'll find that your *ahem* hands are getting bigger.........so it'll be easier for you to play that guitar after a short while.

Cap'n said "ahem". Wonder if he's found something out. :gotcha2:

I had a dream last night where I took my literature teacher's accoustic guitar and walked around and played it a-while. I think it steadily grew bigger and bigger. Anyway, after a while, I put it down and looked for my own, but couldn't find it!

I wonder what it all means?

Eldette (more improv), you are the only other person I now who owns a Castilla. Mind if I add you to my buddy list?

And yes, it was a bit of a bad dream...I ended up wandering around for quite a bit and came upon a huuuuuge pile of guitars so I was looking through them trying to find my own.

They all kind of looked alike...not too alike, but similiar... :hmmm:

ooh buddy list? add away i'de be honored, i think i'll add you too...

your also the only other person i know with a castilla, my dad got it years ago (before i was born) at a garage sale cus he used to play some classical stuff, i dug it up one day, found it in the rafters of our garage, best lil find i ever made :) he just gave it to me cus he only remembers three songs anyways lol

It means that you need a new guitar, Perian- and that you need to lose your attachment to your old one- you are ready to move on!!!

Just make the Castilla a second guitar!

I have never had attachments to my guitars, because they were so cheap, and they broke, but I love my present guitar!

Perian, I think that the reason why bigger guitars sound better is because there is a larger space within the body to "taste" the sound, and throw it back out into thin air. Of course, it all depends on the woods...

BTW my mum had a Castilla, but it was broken, and she would not let me have it even though she had not played it in years (I think she bought it to impress my Dad)

I remember it now...sitting in the attic, dusty and forlorn, atop a box of old books and partially covered by a fogey carpet. What cruelty!

Wowww you replied to a lot of posts there. And did ya hear? I finally named it (which brings up a quote: "Once you name it, you start growing attached to it!" guess from which movie)!
I named it Short Cassie (it's a girl). Which reminds me, I have good news!

I may make $100 in the next week because of a job I'm getting as a graphic designer! I'm gonna use it to get a new guitar (if I can find one for that much...lookin' at Fred Meyer's at the time). :toohappy:

You an artist too? What, computer graphic design?

Me an artist too....I wanna get back to me painting when the kids give me more time...at the mo I am woodcarving and doing stuff with fabrics.

Well, as guitarists, we're all artists. But yes, I've been drawing since I was 2 years old and kept up a steady practice of it. Got what they call "a gift" I guess... I want to be an animator for my career, I've already got a character created with what will be the most unresistable smile you've ever seen. 'Tis clear fate has some ideas for me. But this is my first professional experience, so I'm really excited! :toohappy:

I am right with you, PerianArdocyl! I totally believe in talent as a gift...drawing and painting came instinctively to me at University and in my younger years, but now I have had a long break (I allowed someone to "hurt" me, and it really put me off!), I am having to work hard at it again. In a way, it hurts like hell to attempt to paint, but I am doing harmless stuff like painting children's furniture with Flower Fairy designs for my kids. I painted a mural for a nursery, a bit of landscape stuff, and have designed an album cover for a musician.

I am so excited when people have ambition. If you wanna do it, let no one stop you! Go right to the top!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

One word of advice, if you would suffer me a moment...please, please never give up your talent. It is soooo hard to get back into it. I think you are going to do really well

Aw, thank you...I think my life would have a hole in it if I just quit though. I have a high-activity level (so you can guess what it was like for me when I was sick!) but I do worry sometimes about getting the job. I'm not the outgoing, entrepenuer type, so it might be hard for me to find success to those who don't spoon-feed it to me. But as I said, fate seems to have plans for me, so I'll just keep going as I'm going and just do the best I can.

Painting is tough...I keep trying at it, but I'm just no good. 'Cept when I drew the smoking wolf/human hybrid. That was pretty good. The only reason I really try is because I got this big fancy set on my birthday (*pout* I wanted a wolf plush) but for the most part, just free-hand drawing is what I do. I should show you some of my art sometime, if I ever get the scanner working...maybe I have some drawings on the other computer from when the scanner up thur was still working.

Heh...well, that just screams "Don't show sister creations"...she's left-brained, so everything I think is fantastic she thinks of as rank.
I don't know when we'll get the scanner working, but I can show you what I did for my graphic designer job creating Little Doogen.
Gotta get on the other comp first though.

I assume Little Doogan is a cartoon character? I have been wondering whether to get into drawing cartoon strips myself...

Hey I did a test the other day, and I am about 85% right brained! I think that the left brain must be as small as a pea! LOL

By the way, I jolly well hope that you are completely recovered from your illness! :D

Aaaag ok I found it, but it's taking forever just to copy the file onto my desktop. Could this get any worse!? Ah-ha!

So what is your new game about?

PerianArdocyl
May 9th, 2005, 07:45 PM
Thanks! And thanks for asking what the game is about, I need to blab (still didn't come in the mail):

You can play as either Mint or Rue. Mint is a spoiled princess bent on world domination and Rue is a shapeshifter with a tragic past. They are both after the [Relic], Mint needing it for ruling the world and Rue needing it for reviving the only one near-and-dear to him, Claire, who died 3 years before.

Basically, you play the game in and around the town of Carona, where you can eat, sleep, buy drinks and donate to the church. There are monsters you can fight outside the town. Mint uses her magic rings to battle and Rue has a giant hammer (plus the ability to transform to any monster he defeats).

The storyline is great, and it's got a really free-form combat system. Crossin' fingers for tomorrow!

Nah, I am really impressed with your computer Gen. design. It is jolly hard designing things from scratch on the computer!

Hey, this game sounds cool- I like a bit of fantasy

Heh, I'm kind of in the opposite situation. I have a Les Paul, but it seems small on me. The neck is the right size and everything, but when I stand up and use a strap, it looks TINY.

Yeah...electric guitars often do ('cept the ones that Mike CampBell uses...not quite used to seeing them that big, actually heh)

They're are bigger ones that you can get and I'd salute ya if ya did
