I've been here for a little while but I only posted once... so I'm still new I guess so hi everybody!
Well, I'm looking for a descent acoustic to buy.... I'm thinking of spending 200-300 dollars. I've been looking at Fenders but I figured I should get advice from people wiser in the field of guitars than I, so....
Any help appreciated, thanks

Alvarez, Ibanez, Yamaha, are all good guitars for the price. Of the three I prefer Yamaha just because of the tone.

hmmm... at the price range, i'd have to say the same as tshirtsnjeans. I can't really think of anything else you could get. If you want a solid top you could also go for a washburn. Too bad takamine is just out of thar price range. If you were willing to just spend a little bit more i'd say go for a takamine. But, alas, the previous 4 are good too. Have fun and welcome.

I bought a Walter not too long ago. It was a little over $200. It's got a rosewood finger board, one-piece spruce top, rosewood sides and back, gold hardware, and a compenstated bridge. I'm liking it better than my Alvarez. It sounds the same, but the intonation is better ('cause of the bridge).

I play an Alvarez it was my first. It ran me about $250.00. I went out a few months ago when I decided that I really loved guitar and bought a Fender acoustic/electric for just under $600.00. I now have it sitting in the stand they threw in with it collecting dust.
I don't know if its just because I learned on the Alvarez but the quality of sound with the Fender is nowhere close.

stay away from fender, I love their electrics but they need some serious help in the acoustic dept.
