Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so please have pitty on the unwise :D . Anyways I purchased this acoustic guitar over two years ago and have enjoyed playing it quite a bit. Anyways for the longest time I thought the brand name was Syairi but now I found out its S. Yairi. I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of the company or knows any links to information.

Thanks.

-Alex

I checked out the Kazu Yari connection you mentioned and Kazu Yari guitars seem not to have anything to do with the S. Yairi besides a possible link such as cousins as manufacturers or something. I'm just wondering if my little guitar is considered anything special because I got it for under $200 at a used guitar shop, the owner knowing as little as I know today about the name brand.

Very nice guitar. Looks like my teacher's. But I'm afraid I have not gotten to the point of recognizing brands.

Yairi is the higher end of Alvarez I think. I might be thinking of something else though.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I have heard that the S. Yairi was designed by George Lowden and built in Japan!

I have a K Yairi, supposedly built by S's son. It is a beautiful guitar, lots of Mother of Pearl inlay. It was an excellent beginners guitar but as I progressed I found I needed to upgrade. The action beyond the 5th fret was less than swell.
