When I first got my new Takamine, the sound was amazing. When I turned on the digital tuner, I found that every string was tuned at least a note above the standard (E, A, D, G, B, E). When I retuned it, it didn't sound as good. But as a beginning guitar student, it seemed like a good idea to get the tuning right.

For the times I'm not studying, drilling, or getting taught, would it be sensible to retune it the way it was and recapture that beautiful sound?

uhhhh.......maybe you've been used to different pitches for years.?

so then a standard tuning won't cut it for you?

No, this is a sound just introduced when I bought the guitar. I only had it for about a day or two.

Try new strings. the old ones could have been on there for a year with sweaty youths fondling them in the store.

I always restring a guitar (acoustic Martin Mediums) as soon as I get it home
