It's a p-bass copy from the late 50's. It has no name, its pretty remarkable, some of the construction is unique. I've never seen a bass like it. In its old condition it was faded due to dust and grime, the volume and tone pots were broken, the input was loose, the action was ridiculous, there were dead frets above the 12th, and the strings were a good 10 years old. Now its had a new volume pot in (but tone pot taken out completely), the wires replaced, cleaned up with a bit of white spirit, restrung, intonated and setup. Unfortunately the action is still damn high due to the high nut, and the intonation on the bottom E is out even though the intonation screw is in all the way. The frets above 12th are still inaccesible due to buzzing and dead frets.
Nevertheless, I love it, the sound is deep and darker than most other basses. It has its original pickup, I have no idea what sort of quality or specs it is.. Its a challenge to play, but good for instant callusses!
