Are there whammy bars and wah wah pedals for bass? If so can you use a wah for both? Can you use the whammy bar for both? Can you plug a normal guitar into a bass amp?

I remember seeing an Ibanez bass in the 80's with a Floyd'sh locking trem, not practical, try a whammy pedal! Sure, there are TONS of bass effects units out there, check out www.musiciansfriend.com

Yes, the company Hipshot makes whammys for bass.
Look at them here:

You can buy them from Warmoth:

Look under hardware, bass, bridges.

hipshot makes an excellent bass vibrato tailpiece. kahler also has one available, but i am not positive that they are still available (check stewmac.com).

dunlop makes an excellent wah pedal for bass the 105Q. it is painted white and is the best wah for bass that i have heard.

be cautious with whammy pedals (digitech, zoom, and line 6 make these) on bass. they have a tendencey to cut off your low frequencies and thin out your sound. i've not found a whammy that sounds good with bass.

you can plug a guitar into a bass amp. ever hear of the fender bassman? all sorts of guitarists love the old 59? bassman amps, despite that they were designed for bass.

hey there. I searched the forums a bit and didn't find a post where my question could fit better :S. So here it goes.

I happen to have "found" xD a BOSS wah pedal for bass, but I play guitar and I was thinking if I could screw my amp playing through it... I'd like to use it for lead distortion. Anyone ever tried this? As you say in this post you can play a guitar through a bass amp, but is it safe tu plug my guitar to a bass wah pedal and then to my amp? It's a Hughes & Kettner 100w

Thanks :D

Morleys guitar pedals work well for bass and guitar, I also like them, because they don't use pots, so they don't get scratchy or wear out. And you don't pick up radio waves.
