I have two choices for my next acoustic, both are Takamine guitars, and both are $200. One is an F363S and the other is a G530. I would like some input as to which one to buy.

I've never played a cheap tak that sounded bearable at all. sorry, I just don't like 'em. go over $1000 and they're great!!

I have never played a cheap tak that sounded BAD at all. They've all sounded wonderful to me, that's why I was asking, cause I couldn't decide which one to get. Both of them can almost compete with Martin in sound, just not as bassy. Expensive taks don't sound that much better than cheap taks most of the time.

SOrry, but I disagree. Ive played 4 or 5 cheapies and at least 3 expensive ones. I even went and put new strings on one of the cheapies to see if that would help, but acoustically it was a total dog. Plugged in, it was fine, but unplugged it mingin!!
At the end of the day, play as many guitars in your price range as you can get your paws on. Buy the one you like most!!
(regardless of brand!!!)

You're just more picky than I am I guess. I have a Fender Gemini III, and it's good, but when I played that Takamine F363S, it blew it away. I haven't played any lower priced acoustics that have sounded better than the Takamine.

I love the sound of takamines. I have a 500 dollar one. Its about 700 or something like that list. Its a great guitar. The cantor at my synagogue plays a martin. he's had his for 30 years. Not a dreadnaught. Its a smaller body. Just like my EG540C. He said it sounded great. Nice crisp sound. I love the thing. It just sounded better. I'd suggest a takamine any time. They make great guitars.

Yeah, I guess I would want one eventually, but I don't really want to spend $3000+
on a Martin or Taylor that's only going to sound a little better than any $1000-1500 Takamine or Alvarez.

That's true. I def agree. Its like, why spend the thousands of dollars on something really good when u can get something cheaper that sounds just as good. I understand. I still want a martin though. But for now, my takamine eg540c or something like that will be fine!
