audacity!!!!!@?

hey,I downloaded audacity and I pluged in my guitar and recorded a little preview(smoke on the water :D ) and it sounded wierd it was differnt then if you pluged it in to an amp. any suggestions

Use a mic on yer amp, or go through a stomp box. Make sure the mic boost is off. See if that makes a difference. Make sure yer input levels aren't too high. You'll see the waveform graphics while it records, if the lines hit the top and bottom yer input levels are too high.

use line in and adjust you vol under the recording control asuming you have windows and w/e you do stay away from ntrack but blaze works real f...ing good
