and I'm jsut wondering if there is any website that you know that would give me a nice description of the way acoustic guitar works (like what is the difference ins ound between different body shapes, what is the difference in sound between different woods, like mahogany and rosewood, what matters if a guitar is a dreadnought and WHAT IS a dreadnought and so on).
Help is, as always, appreciated.

Well i'll answer ur dreadnaught question. A Dreadnaught is a guitar wiht a very big body. it is thicker, and bigger in almsot every way as compared to other acoustic guitars. This is a smaller body that you may see. http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=1288&sid=69
But a dreadnaught looks like this: http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=111&sid=63
As you can see the dreadnaught has a different body size. I like lookin at taks, and i have one myself, that's why i used that for examples. That dreadnaught will have a deeper and more full/bassy sound. The smaller body that i showed first will have a sound that isn't as deep and full. but in my experience it is very crisp as compared to the dreadnaught. Between two 30 year old martins, the dreadnaught had a deeper tone. The smaller body had a brigher sound. Good luck.

Naw, I will just stick to the .024's thanks.
Eh? I thought you were at Summer Madness? Got internet access via satellite?
I was in town today, and saw a Summer Madness CD! I did not know they were so high profile! Quote: "The Biggest Irish Christian Festival".
I checked out the site, and it makes no mention of being a biggie!

Dreadnaughts have a lot of bass response...treble is hit or miss.
Auditorium body styles are thinner have a brighter sound are excellent for fingerpicking.

Strummers more or less choose Dreadnoughts. Pickers choose auditorium.
