Gibson thunderbird, which I owned....notice "owned'...it's long gone
Fender Jazz, which I've never owned, but would love to. I just don't think you can beat the sound.
Oh, yeah, only two...the older Rick's sound pretty good too.........

Fender Geddy Lee Jazz
Music Man Stingray
That would cover all of my tonal needs. I'll throw in a Steinberger as an alternate because I'm lazy and don't like to lug equipment around. :D

I've always liked the Kubicki X-factor and the Steinberger headless bass. They're old school. Are they still making these?

Man, I haven't heard of Kubicki in a long time. Ned Steinberger just launched a new line called Synapse which are different from the all composite models. I don't know of anyone who has one and you can only order it through Musician's Friend. It looks like something I'll get in the future.

Probably the best bass I have ever played is a Japanese made Fender. I now have an SX Jazz bass that is very close in quality and sound to the Japanese Fender. Japanese instruments rule........

If I am not mistaken, Warwick are the ones that are made by what was once Framus ( and is now back in business).

My 2 favorite basses...hmm, I had a Fender Jazzmaster that played pretty sweet. Till I got my Carvin 5-string with active electronics though! That's m'baby! My hubby thinks I'm nuts. He's a lead guitar player and laughs and says, "I don't get it...a guitar with 5 strings and ya can't make chords on it!"
