...just kidding :)

actually, I joined the club and started building a cigar box guitar

The box isn't an actual cigar box; it's some sort of nifty little display/storage box. Dimensions are 11.5" x 18".

That's kinda neat. When ya get it done you can use it to keep spare picks in too. :)

help me out here, folks. The neck is going to run through most of the box. Would it better to glue part of the neck in the box to the lid or to rig it so that it's anchored to the back of the box/guitar (which would relieve tension on the fragile body the most?)

Also, should I rout a cavity in the neck for some sort of non-adjustable truss?
