Well last night after talking with my sisters boyfriend he mentioned his mom bought him a 800 dollar ibanez 4 string bass cherrish color. He has had it for like 4 or 5 years setting in his closet and he told me that i could have it for 2 hundred. I have never seen the bass but do any of you people know a bass around that price range ibanez makes? Thanks i know thats a random and hard question but its worth a shot. I am thinking about buying it if it is a nice one.

Got any pics? And how does it play? If YOU think it's worth it, and you feel that you want/need it, then go for it.
Ibanez have a very consistent and high quality range (as you probably already know), so it's probably worth it.

Even if 800 was an overstatement, It probably isn't too far off, the cheapest one I've seen was I think in the $350-400 range, Ibanez makes good quality gear and two hundred is probably a steal if everything's nice on it. I say go for it if it plays and looks nice.

Get the exact model from him and do a search for it. You should be able to get price information.

It's likely worth it, the Ibanez basses aren't bad at all.

My first bass is an Ibanez Gio. I paid about $200 for it new. I like it, but then I have nothing to compare it to.

The one I've got kicking around is an Ibanez. It works just fine but I don't know what the heck I'm doing either.... :hmmm: I paid about $250 for it with a small pratice amp, ended up selling it to a friend but I'm trying to figure out a way I can buy it back.

The only problem with mine is that it is a lttle head-heavy. One has to support the weight of the neck with the left hand. Still, the tone is OK. It does good harmonics with the switch to the left.
