Animated Avatar

I have a great animation that I want to use as an avatar on the web, but when I go to upload it, it says that it couldn't find an image in the animation's URL. The thing is the right URL and it is in GIF format. Is there a way to upload it?

BTW does anyone know how to make an animated gif from scratch?

a gif is just a whole lot of images strung together, like a cartoon, all the different scenes and such. i don't know how to make them though. and in regards to the original post, i havn't found a way to shrink gif files yet...

printshop pro 5 i had, it had a gif/animate picture maker it was nice wish i could find where i put that program
