Midi VST Brass

Hi, I've never liked to use midi cause I thought it sounds too bad to listen, but now I need to make some decent sounding brass section ( or just trumpet) . If it sounds good I will call some dude to record it on real, but first I need to create some lines..

If anyone could help me I would be grateful.
All I know aboud midi sound is that #$# GM sound, that's more than bad, I've heard about Soundfonts ( SB Live times ) , but I remember I couldn't find anything interesting.
Maybe someone uses some VST Brass or something, if so please let me know what should I buy, or if there are any free ones . It would be great if you had some recordings that use that kind of "samples"..
