So I went to a guitar shop today and they had one of these.

I played a Music Man bass through this (didn't have my own at the time) into one Fender Professional Series 1x15" cab, and wow. Only had about 5 minutes with the thing but the pair sounded GREAT. Sounded like it was an old tube bass amp.

I think I may have found my next bass amp - I'm very picky when it comes to this and to date this is the only (new) combination I've heard that I would consider buying. The other head that I am looking at is the 400 Pro (it's SS or maybe hybrid), but I didn't get a chance to try the head-only version.

Has anyone tried this amp? What are your thoughts?

I haven't tried the new Traynor bass amps but it looks really nice. I own 2 older ones from the 70's and they are oustanding. They sound great and you could throw them down a flight of stairs and they wouldn't break. I also use Traynor guitar amps.

That looks sweet. I would really like to try one of these heads out. How much is it? it looks kinda pricey :hmmm:

Don't know if you can get Traynor in UK. :(

850 Canadian. NOT a lot of money at all for a 200w all tube head - but then they are made here in Canada and so here Traynor is known as being possibly the best bang-for-buck in tube amps (guitar and bass) right now.

In fact I almost bought one of those new Traynor tube guitar amps - they're nice amps. I found that Marshall somewhere along the way, though, and the rest is history :p

Traynor amps are priced really well especially considering the quality of the parts. They are generally about half the price of amps by bigger brand names.

That's too bad, I'd have liked to hear some opinions on the sound...

Oh well, I love it and I guess that's all that counts. Be nice to find one used though!!
