Sounds like an AOL Toolbar thingie.

Go in to your Control Panel, open up the Add or Remove programs folder and see if there's a separate component for the tool bar, it'd prob. be an AOL something or other, and then click remove.

Try to go to View along the top, then the Toolbars menu, and see if there is anything with a check mark next to it that is called like AOL or something alike.

If you're talking about what i think...right click up near it, and click AOL toolbar, thus taking the check awar from it and making it go away.

I'm probably wrong

infact...well...forget it

That'll only hide it, might as well see if you can delete it altogether.... esp. if the 'rents are riding you about it. That should work though if you want to keep it, didn't think of that.

Uninstall everything in the computer has anything to do with AOL. Go to Control Panel and us the remove software wizard. After that you can reinstall AIM, but be careful when you install it. Make sure that you uncheck the options to install the toolbar and any other junk that AOL wants you to have. The defaut is INSTALL.

This should do it. If not let me know and I'll go through it on my computer so I can remember how. I'm pretty sure this will work

Just go to start button and open Internet Explorer. Just close the other browser.

wow, that wont do anything because the toolbar is IN IE...

AOL wants that toolbar there, they won't make it easy to get rid of.
I did just think of something...can you just disable it in AIM preferences? I doubt it, but worth a try
