How secure are your ports from hackers, potential viruses, trojans, worms?
If you want to check it out...try this place.
Comes highly recommended from some long-time PC geeks.
Besides My IP Address being visible, I got a complete Stealth rating.
That means that even though an IP Address is visible, no information
can be nabbed from my computer. It's as though it's a blank, unlived in
address.

That's a lot of reading. I'd better save that for tomorrow when I can get paid for reading it. ;)
Oh, and thanks! It looks like very good information.

The tests at the bottom of the page are really short, and
the results basically give you the main info you need.
You don't have to read all that other stuff, unless you just want to.

Great read BMG!!.. wonderful thing for the novice and experienced users.
I got the same thing.. Just shows my IP. But everything including my ports are all closed to everything..
Running 2 firewalls helps.

I use linux as well however Im in windows right now because I was using Powertab. Besides I have my network locked down so tight nobody is getting through. Im sure some of the pro old time hackers could get through but not any script kiddies. Plus I bounce my IP off other people so even websites dont know my real IP, comes in pretty handy when Im downloading errr I mean buying software :D

you MUST make sure you have ALL the security patches from Microsoft update site, otherwise your computer is potentially wide open. Make sure your firewall is on, and download AdAware and Spybot to remove spyware. Try Avast or Trend virus scanner also as its very good and free registration. Still all that wont prevent viruses getting into your PC as they can still be downloaded an executed, although this would have to be by someone using the PC. Be very wary of EXE files, the viruses are usually distributed in this format and scan regularly just incase.
