Just a warning that transcoding lossy audio formats results in reallly crappy sounding files. The only time this isn't true is if the source file happens to be really high bitrate. Which if it's a windows media file ripped at standard settings, it won't be. If there is anyway to rip straight to mp3 from the original hard copy (CD) it's a much better idea.

I use Goldwave with the Lame32 plugin. Totally free software and will do Batch conversions if you have alot of files that need converting to mp3.... Cant go wrong with that :)

Its also a good wave editor and a nice alternative to the likes of Soundforge and Cooledit. Its a very quick program.
U get a message each time u load saying its unregistered but you just close that and you can use as often as you like.
