Hey, so I just bought Cubase SE and an M audio Mobile Pre USB audio interface so I can record on my PC. BUT, I am so frustrated because I don't know how to record stuff onto my computer! I also don't know how to get Cubase to play back through the output of the interface. Please, someone help me, I just want to record.
:confuse:

You can go on their website and download the manual. About 300 pages.
Good luck! That is the biggest problem with Cubase, the lack of support.
Here some links for support

I cant help but thanks for posting this. I'm down to the wire trying to decide between cubase and protools. Do you mind if I ask why you chose cubase?

I was able to aquire it cheap. My personal preference is Sonar because how easy it is to use. Pro Tools is the standard! Cubase, for me, has a big learning curve. But it does everything! If you can get a trial edition of what you want try it out first. Sonar is written for Windows. If you can understand how to run a microsoft product you can get going fast. Cubase and Protools started as Mac programs. Colleges teach Protools. They all have their pluses and minuses.

its not exactly straight forward how we would like. Firstly, check in the windows mixer that your input isnt muted ;)
Next, you need to make a new audio channel and set it to monitor the input (there is a tiny icon on the audio track u need to click to do this). I dont think you actually need to select the Audio Interface, cubase should just find it and use it. Then (if everything is connected properly) you should see the amplitude of the input bouncing around as you play, you should hear it too! Probably with some latency if your card isnt so good. If thats the case go and download ASIO4ALL, a miracle low latency driver for crappy soundcards :)
