I've never done much recording myself, so please excuse my ignorance.

I'm looking for a free recording program that will allow me to upload multiple different file types (mp3, wav, midi) and arrange them how I want. It doesn't need to have a million features, just something that will let me record vocals and arrange my stuff. It's for my rap project.

Thanks.

recording--Audacity

Arranging --Acid

both free...with audacity if you want to export as mp3 just get the LAME codec. pretty simple

N-Track is very good too...Agreed.. I use N-tracks pro myself. But Acid is another great program too.
N-Track is a multi-track recorder for the computer that has unlimited tracks, but its limit is RAM and CPU speed. I run N-Tracks on a Pentium 4 3.2E
(FSB 800 MHz,512KB L2-Cache) (SL6WT)
Asus P4P800 deluxe mother board
160 gig WD digital 8 Meg cache 7200 RPM
1.3Gb PC 3200 400MHz Value Performance Series
420 watt power supply
and Audigy 4 pro with hub. Works for me. The cost is quite abit, but well worth it for quality wise.
