I'm making a CD for a bass player and I want cool bass lines. So far I have:

1) REVOLUTION: THE BEATLES

2) BROWN EYE GIRL: THE WHO

3) 5 TO 1: THE WHO

4) FIRE: JIMI HENDRIX

Isn't 5 to 1 The Doors?
I could be totaly wrong, as I've only had like 9 hours sleep in 5 days... lol

yes 5 to 1 is doors, fixing a hole by beatles has a real cool bassline

ANY Beatles song has killer bass lines, Mac's chops are awesome, I would also say anything by the Who, Rush, Yes, RHCP's. That should keep him busy for a few months\lol

You gotta listen to some of the ads on FM 104.1 on the Outer Banks, NC. They all (well, most) have some killer bass lines.

Are these lines for your friend to play?

Wouldn't (s)he be better off creating his own? In the style of the band he is in, I was thinking.

On "Birthday" by the Beatles the bass player never stops moving. "Taxman" also has killer groove. Anything by Barry Oakley

Brown Eyed Girl is by Van Morrison, the same guy that wrote "Gloria"
