/\/\Plus one on your PS...
Guitar gave me a new thing in life, something else to do on those boring days when nothing happens. I'm homeschooled, so the school thing doesn't really apply.

guitar helped gte my self esteem up, but sometimes it also brings it back down hahaha, so that kind of cancels itself out. i guess it just gives me something to do, something to concentrate on and work towards improving. it definitely deters me from doing my homework though, but then again i wouldnt do it anyway haha, i mean, i go to school for 6 hours a day and work there, im not gonna come home and work some more when i just wanna play guitar!
i guess it somewhat damaged my life too, because i take it so seriously that i just sit in my house on all my spare time and practise exercises and stuff, instead of going out places, etc. but again, i dont know if thats for better or for worse. most people around here i dont like anyway. the guitar possibly saved me from getting into drugs after i was in the hospital, because the people i likely would have ended up hanging out with were all addicts.

Guitar gives me something to do... let me fill you in :p
My mom left my dad about 4 months ago (around there), so we moved to an apartment. While I was living with my mom and dad in the same household, I was playing online games and going to school. While living at the apartment with my mom, I would do the same thing as before, but was doing school online there. Both of these locations were in town.
About a month into living at the apartment my mom's friend wanted her to meet this guy, because he was really nice. Ended up they have so much in common, and it was "love at first sight". He was staying over pretty well everynight! So they decided it would be a good choice to live together, but there was no point in renting the apartment when he owned a 200 acre farm!
So now we are living out here in the country, not in town, and high speed internet isn't available. I heard him playing guitar one night, so I decided to ask him if he had any others, ended up he has 7 electric ones, and about 3 acoustics! Along with all the goodies (amps, pedals, etc.).
So now, here I am playing guitar, and doing school online! Although I may have found a company that will provide high speed out here, I just can't seem to put this guitar down!.. my dad is an *********, so losing high speed internet was definetly worth it. Plus my mom's boyfriend is really nice.
Originally, guitar was just something to **** around with, I wasn't going to get too serious with it until I heard him doing solo's and just going nuts! And then I found Jam Session :p
That's my story!

Hm.. lets see...
For me, guitar brought in drugs, alchohol, etc. Also takes me into that safe zone where I can get away from the stresses of life and show me the fruits of hard labor. Also adds in stress, too when I wish to become like my guitar heroes or want to become successful with my creative innitiative. I've also lost friendships over music, and also relationships.
The entire girl thing and the sex symbol of the guitar is overrated in my opinion because you can look at it this way: She likes you because of the guitar not because of who you are, and if she wants to have sex with you because of your rocker look, then I can bet that she would do three in your place. Back on topic, though...
It's a scale for me on this one. With one thing comes another, so it all weighs itself out to a nice, balanced order, but lately I'm in a rut and trying to climb myself out of it, but all-in-all, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Guitar, for me, was just another, more appealing way to vent. I taught myself, but i formed a band with a couple of other people in school. Even though i played guitar, i was always made fun out of, since i joined the school. So i don't get any girls on me really... :(

Guitar helped me get of the phase of paintball (very addicting, and money consuming). I can play guitar whenever I want for free, unlike paintball.
Also I often want to play guitar instead of doing homework and such.

Hmmm...Things that playing guitar has done for me-
I am able to think clearer (I think)
It gave me something to do when I was bored.
Chicks,Chicks and more chicks!!
Kept me out of trouble (kinda)
Gave me opportunities to meet famous musicians.
Gave me something to bragg about.
oh ya.... and chicks, girls, and women!!!

Guitar is my life, and hopefully it will stay that way (like a job that has to do with guitars) But after starting i would hang out with people who played other instruments and we would jam, and the people introduced me to alcohol, so here i am playing the thing i love trying to quit the thing i hate, wich i think is going well, and everytime i get upset about somthing i can just sit down and play the kind of music that suits my mood. Schoolwise i have been doing horribly at, not because of guitar tho, guitar just gives me an excuse to not do homework.

Oh, playing guitar certainly made me more arrogant. I guess all good musicians are arrogant in some way, and I just suck but I'm kind of like Malmsteen... 'unleash the focking fury' on everyone. but like i said, im not good at all. but after playing guitar, it changed my taste in music, beofre i was into hip-hop, punk and nu-metal but now its different. Im more into techinical stuff now and the whatnot. As well. since i think all mainstream music is stupid, ie 50 cent, i thikn every1 who listens to him are stupid. so i turn out to be a jerk sometimes at school. but i guess you guys would too, theres too many posers at my schoool. and it made me a jackass cuz i think im better than every1 who doesnt play guitar.. but anywyas. im still a nice guy overall. but i just treat the people i hate worse now. im still a good friend to my real friends and thats about it.
