Well, since it's obvious none of us could go to MI, let's share what we've gotten from those monsters! It's your turn, Stone Dragon, share some Don Mock with me ... he's my favorite player and he's virtually unknown!
I wanted to go in 1973 when it was still GI but my father told me that if I went to college it would have to be for something which would get me employed after graduation. Oh well.

Wow... I didn't know that GI was around in '73. I first started hearing about the school in the early '80s when Guitar Player magazine ran some features on the place.
The fact that folks like Howard Roberts and Tommy Tedesco were associated with the school sparked my interest immediately. I had already been devouring their monthly columns in Guitar Player, so the fact that they were connected to MI gave it a lot of credibility.
It sounds like you should be filling me in on Don Mock. The only thing that I have ever heard of his was a piece on a cassette tape that MI sent out when you requested their enrollment package. I loved that piece. In fact, it was that piece and a piece by Robben Ford (also on the cassette) that got me interested in jazz/rock fusion.

I got some pretty cool fusion ideas from Don Mock and could scan them but how would I post a scan?

I'm thinking of the possibility of creating a section of the site where we can post licks and ideas for eachother.... just haven't figured out the best way to do it yet.
