Some Guitar Vocab Help Please...

Ok Ive been looking at some tabs lately and I dont quite understand some of the vocabulary they use. I was hopin you can help me out with a few words and how to do them:

-Hammer-On
-Pull-Off
-The difference between vibrato and bending the string
-Heavy Damping

Thats about it.

Check out lesson three (http://www.zentao.com/guitar/lesson3/index.html). The left-hand section of that lesson deals with hammer-ons and pull-offs. the right-hand section deals with palm muting... which is most often what "damping" refers to.

I haven't covered vibrato in the lessons yet... that will be covered in lesson 10.

Half-step bends are covered in lesson five (http://www.zentao.com/guitar/lesson5/left-hand.html), but whole-step bends are only covered on my hard drive at this point. I'm still working on that lesson http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif

Vibrato is a rapid fluctuation of pitch.... most often this means bending and releasing the string repeatedly, but you can also move your hand side-to-side in the same direction as the string.... sort of like you are pushing and pulling the string lengthwise.
