I just started to play the guitar, and I was wondering if when anyone else started, they found it hard to change chords quickly/accurately? I really want to learn to play well, so I need some help please.

I still do http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif

Try and get the accuracy right for the chord changes - then once you've got that sorted you can start speeding up to the right speed

I am also having the same problem but I believe it just has to do with lots of practice. I have learned about 15 chords now and I plan on running through them as long as it taskes to get it right. There is no easy way to do this. If it was really easy, everyone would be doing it.

yeah i had the same problem when I started...what I did was take 3 out of the bunch of chords that SD mentions in chapter one and just play them over and over and over and over for a while. I first started out with easier changes such as C to Am to E back to C or something and then moved on to more difficult things in a couple weeks such as D Dm G A.

Don't be discouraged in the beginning...It took me well over 30 seconds each to change to each chord in the beginning. It just takes plenty of practice...I suggest doing the repetition in front of a television or something.

After a while your mind will like map where your fingers should go and you can change pretty quickly (I think someone said that in here when I was first starting and I didn't believe them..sure enough it was true). Keep goin at it and I can guarentee positive results.

P.S. I still have some trouble switching in good timing...so its normal.

One more thing...Don't be afraid to ask questions here...these guys don't laugh...just take a look at how many questions I ask here. http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

Yep, switching chords taking practice and time...but before you know it...It's like DAMN...this is cool...

But for that first 6-->8 months...it can feel like you are in sand..
