I have the tabs to seek and destroy but I cant seem to figure them out. I am a beginner and need some tips. I do exactly what the tabs say but it just does'nt sound the same.

Well, music isnt just about playing the right notes. Its playing the right notes at the right rhythm also. Try playing with the music. If you are a beginner, take it slow, you might not be able to play it at first.

And make sure you are in the right key. If this fails then there might be a chance that the tab is wrong. If you got it off the internet, then it just might be.

Good Luck

Can't think of any better advice than what JB gave you.... unless you can be more specific about what is not working right.

From my esperience, I've found a LOT of transcriptions of songs, (tab, and otherwise) that the reliabilty is shakey at best; Some of them have the major "hook" of the song right, but little subtle things were wrong. After you think you have the tab down cold, and it still sounds funky, stretch out a little and experiment in the places you think are wrong. (it's also a good way to learn)
Hope this helps!

My best advice is to get right in front of a computer..and get comfortable. These are basic power chords..at least the rythm is. Grab winamp and grab some MP3s..play that note out until you get it right on the guitar..if you have to pause the thing 20 times..at leat you will get it right. Humming definately helps..helps to train the ear too. The reason I mention Winamp si because it is much eassier than pausing a CD...Winamp can be paused and started in a flash. One more thing...make sure that you are in tune. Grab something like a pitch trainer or something off the internet and just run it through the computer and crank it.
