Hi kirby,
I started not too long ago, and the first guitar I got was an Aria which is an above average starter guitar without the above average price! It has great machine heads and very good action! Mine was a fiberglass back(Ovation style but without the slipslide thing going on)! It's tough enough to take anywhere and it on the bright side(sound wise) but it's easy to play and a joy to learn on! So look it up, shop around a bit and don't hold back on the questions!! http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Good luck,
Guildman.

Squires are a good starter guitar, or atleast I started with one and liked it. They have Acoustic and Electric squires and there like 100 bucks and look/sound nice.
