I have an acoustic guitar in need of strings but I need new bridge pins. Will any set of bridge pins work, or are they different sizes? I am a newb so this is why I am asking.

Any bridge pin will do.
Except for, I would imagine, ones made for acoustic bass, but that would be obvious.

get the best you can afford.
Ebony are better than plastic
ivory or bone are better still
(better = sustain)

IMHO - try the TUSQ bridge pins made by Graph Tech. It's synth ivory and therefore more consistent in tonal quality and sustain than real.

Ok, thanks guys. I imagine the more expensive ones will last longer as well, as far as changing the strings goes? I am told the plastic ones snap easily.

If bridge pins are snapping then there is a problem with how the strings are being installed.
I've got plastic pins that are 50+ years old., and have a couple guitars that I've been re-stringing for 20+ years now. Never encountered a snapped bridge pin.

Me too. never snapped one yet in 25 years playing. make sure you're pulling them out straight. the handle of my "free on a guitar mag" string winder has a slot for this

Never snapped one either on my old silvertone and as far as I can tell they are original, but on my Tak I put ebonies and they made a big diffrence in the sustain. I dont think I know any one with brass pins in their guitar, I have never played one either so couldnt tell ya
