i am hoping to start a project to build a guitar soon. I have tried to find things on the internet and found some. does anyone here have any suggestions on how to? anything helps. thanks.

Yeah, look at Ebay. Email me if you'd like an E-book on guitar construction/repairs. Its got some good info in there. Also, if you need anything, there are others like myself that build guitars, and I'm sure that we'd all be happy to help.

just arrived is this book : make your own electric guitar" by melvyn hiscock.
if u buy that, it'll be all u neeed. im readin through it like it was my grandma's will and im learning loads!! just as sooon as my jackson neck arrives ill start production on the guitar. it coverss everything from tools and preps to woods and materials and finishing and setups. 200pages of guitar building goodness.
10/10-recomend it eyes closed!

yep, same goes here. I'm not so great as a "scratch build" resource, but I do regularly assemble, wire and setup bolt ons. I also have a lot of experience with hardware and pickup selection. PM me with Qs
