I am learning the Cat Scratch Fever riff but cannot get it as clear as the midi file. I was wondering if you have any tips on keeping the open string from ringing out.

MIDI FILE????
That's a recording of me playing!!!!!
The trick is to flatten your fretting fingers out so that they cover the higher strings and keep them from ringing.... and use the "karate chop" portion of your picking hand to keep the bass strings from ringing.

That was funny to me because Stone has been unsatisfied about this or that recording software having everything he wants...but no midi capabilities...or midi is too limiting...
and then he comes along and is offended that he was mistaken for midi....!!??
From my perspective...he sounds as confused as Al Gore...
Just what are the real issues here Stone???
I will give you a smaller Bulletin Board giving back control to those people that deserve it...No more "big brother" looking over your shoulder..
I believe in Affirmative Access...I don't believe there should be quotas on Bulletin Boards...I will take away quotas because I believe them to be wrong and unfair...
For those people that cannot play Cat Scratch Fever in a timely manner as assessed via standardized testing...I will allow local musicians to decide if a CREDIT VOUCHER is right for them...so they can choose where/who to lean on when learning Cat Scratch Fever...
I will shut my big Yapper now...
heheheeheheh
(just poking fun at ya Stone....)
NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND ANYONE...JUST HAVING FUN HERE FOLKS
