aternative tunings

when you tune a guitar to something like CGCGCE (open C tuning) do need new strings or something cause thats eather really LOW, or you're gona break a few strings.

Yeah, it's low. You're tuning down for the most part with the exception of the B string with is tuned up to C in this situation.

As far as needing new strings, it's not necessary. Although, I believe the higher gauge strings work better with the lower alternative tunings.
