Been playing a long time and really like what I call Bebop metal or rock. It may be too new for a lot of players here on the net. If you like you can check out the guitarist Greg Howe. Get his introspection C D. Any way the point is he uses the whole tone scale in some nice ways over power chords and rock grove rhythms. Thought maybe you may want to elaborate on the this scale and how to use it in a progressive manner.

Hmmm... bebop metal huh? Sounds like something I would like for sure.
Is this the same Greg Howe who years ago tried his hand at the Guitar God throne and then died of obscurity with his brother in HoweII?
I'd have to hear the CD you are talking about or have you re-phrase your request to know exactly how to answer.

If you have not heard Greg howes stuff since then you are really missing out. It is a real in justice to judge Greg howe on anything from the past. As to his obscurity you talk about that is a real credit to how messed up the guitar industry really is. Greg Howe has truly rising to the top of all the guitar players I have ever heard. Believe me I ahve heard them all. He has all the chops of Holsworth however he is not stuck in the rut that he is. He has the lagoto that the shreders have but with real tast. He has the musical maturity of someone way past his years. He stands alone without a pear in all the guitar hero world. If you are any one has not heard him in the last five years all i can say is you will not believe it! You will hear a cross between charlie parker, an eddie that is from the year 2000, and an Holwsworth that can really play melodicaly. To say he is great is an understatment. If you really like to play guitar then get all of his new solo stuff and get caught up with the greatest guitarist a live today!

I've got nothing against Greg Howe whatsoever... sorry to give you that impression.
I used to own one of those first albums he put out. I thought it was a great album. He had shred, but instead of jumping on the Bach bandwagon, he was doing something more funky. I think the only thing that stopped him from taking his place along side the greats was that he came out at the tail end of that whole guitar hero explosion in the '80s... right about the time that everybody was getting sick of hearing that kind of stuff.
I've never heard anything he did with HoweII or later, but from what you describe, it sounds like required listening. I have very little recreational listening time though... makes it hard to keep up http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smile.gif
Another guy that I really like who never got his due is Chris Poland... the original guitar player with Megadeth. He has that slippery sounding Holdsworth influence as well.
BTW, That is a nice looking site you have. Did you do the design yourself? So many of these guitar sites look like glorified homepages.

Thanks yea I did it took me a long time if you like I will give you a free pass so you can see what I am doing. I could use all the help I can get. I think you would find my guitar 2000 stuff interesting i am into a whole new thing about seeing the guitar with chords scales and arps. At least it is new to me It works around a few concepts. Anyway realy do check Howe out. I will look for that guy you mentioned.

Chris put out one solo album after leaving megadeth. It's called Return to Metalopolis. That album is still available. You can check it out at cdnow. I'm surprised that you can still find it.
He went on to put a band together with his brother on drums called Damn The Machine. I doubt you will find any of their stuff anywhere but in the dust bin of some forgotten cd shop. They died of under-exposure and weak vocals, but the music was fantastic... especially if you are a fan of alternating between clean arpeggiated jazz chords and metal crunch.

Greg Howe is freakin awesome!!!!!
He did a short stint with his brother on vocals but after that went back to instrumental and has several really good albums IMO.
Check him out he's a monster!
