we were all looking forward to playing at this massive party of about 50 people with loads of alcohol. the night came and it wasnt quite what we expected. we arrived and a load of 13 year old girls pretending 2 be drunk were running around giggling at us and they said "theres not really any room inside, can u just bring the guitars in and leave the drums" we looked at each other and realised this was a girls sleepover of about 13 people and our drummer didnt look 2 happy, and we didnt really know ne of them. but we decided to go in neway. we crammed into a tiny living room and our drummer left most of his symbols and a tom in the car and we were really beggining to doubt whether it was worth playing anything. we started to play but they said "turn it down, its too loud" lol. clearly none of them realised how loud bands play live or had seen a live band before. we continued through the set but by the end only 1 or 2 of them were still watching. the night was fairly embarrasing and we had 2 wait an hour sitting in in this strangers sitting room while a couple of the girls were trying to get our lead singer to go out with with another girl. but in the end we got paid (by the dad of the girl hus party it was) 30 quid, so it wasnt all bad. he probalby felt sorry for us lol. so much for "the best party well ever go 2" but it was quite amusing

Definately not the best gig but you just have to make the best out of the situation :_devil:

Consider yourself lucky in that case, if it was 50 drunken maniacs, i would have left all the equipment in the car!

Dude I can't even count how many teenage girls I've "entertained" over the years. Never got paid for it though. So you're way ahead of me there, lol.

That's the kind of gig when you get to be my age you'll remember fondly and laugh your arse off about it.

well, the quesion i must ask is this: although the gig sucked, did you get free food at the party? its the free food that always makes such situations bearable. now, if you didnt get free food, i feel very sorry for you. but at least you got paid.

rodderz, sometimes gigs are like that. You expect one thing, and it turns out to be totally different. Sometimes that's good. Sometimes, it's just like what happened to you. Ugh!

Sounds like a tough gig. But it will make a great story when you're famous. And the girls will brag that you played their private party. It's a win-win. :)
