yesterday me and my friends got a gig at a club , we played good and all, so when we were done we got us a cab and packed our stuff in, when we got of and unloaded our gear, our bass player realizes that he forgot his bass in the cab, when he turned around the cab already started to move so he ran as fast as he could , chasing the cab across the street, then WHAM , he runs straight into the back of the cab and breaks his nose, so hes covered with blood but he still manages to get up open the door of the cab and take his bass, the cab driver was scared like hell, and my friend with the bloody face was laughing at him, god im bored, that must be why im wrighting this lame story, anyhow have a nice day.

Doh!
Bummer, I thought this was going to be about that chick you married, the one who married some other rock guy, Heather something. I forget her name, but she's regarded as being a hottie.

Since when does Ritchie S. travel by cab w/ his band, or packed his own gear???? Hard times have befallen the soul survivor!

'Sorry to hear that. Man, whenever you're going from one space to another, outside of your own home, ya gotta be aware, and look around and ask yourself, "Do I HAVE everything?" That goes a long way to avoiding stupid crap like that.

On the list of things your bassist would sacrifice for his gear, he can scratch off "nose."

Oh... and "dignity." :D

Great story. :)

Lucky for him. I had an acoustic in the trunk of a cab in Turkey and he drove off as soon as I got out. he knew he'd make more selling the guitar than taking my fare.

That's pretty freakin' hilarious man. I hope there are pics somewhere. And I hope he got some of his blood on that bass.

Lesson learned (one hopes)- Always travel w/ your axe in your lap in the back seat of a cab dude, especially overseas!

That's awesome! I mean, actually, it's not, since your fella hurt himself on a crucial part of the face, but it's...a great story! :D

Haha, great story. Tell your bass player that he should be more careful. Also, next time dare him to try to kiss a moving car from behind :)
