I've always been impressed by solo guitar players who sound like they are being accompanied by another guitar player, (ie. Hendrix). A lot of people (me included) just can't play lead while simultaneously holding down a steady rhythm.

If anyone has a good blues chord melody that you like to use for practice, please share it with me!

I just picked up a book called Chord Melodies for Jazz Guitar. It is geared toward intermediate through advanced guitarists, is written in standard notation, tab, and includes a CD. I just started on the first song, and it's a beauty. This book has created a breakthrough for me. If I can tackle one page of music a day, learning regular "pop" music will be a cinch. At this point though, I learning about 10 measures a day.
Although this book says jazz, there are flamenco songs, as well as blues(mostly standards).
