How long did it take you guys to play chords and change chords without looking at the guitar?

long time! Heck, I still look sometimes, especially if I'm using chords I haven't in a while. Don't worry, It'll come!

What kind of chords?http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/confused.gif There are soooo many. I've been playing 14 years and I'm still learning to play chords. Take all of the basic open position chords. Then learn to invert them in all possible combiniations. Then augment, diminish, major, minor, dominant, add9, sus4, add6, sharp, flat, 11, 13---> do you see how mind boggling it gets?http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/movingeyes.gif Then you will need to be able to play them in all the different positions on the neck. One thing you can do is practice with all the lights turned off. It's frustrating at first, but give it a shot.

Which brings me back on topic.... if you're stuck looking at your fingerboard.... you don't get a chance to scope out all the chicks in the audience. (or dodge flying objects as the case may be)
