Does anyone do this? What artists do this and what are some good exercises or tips in how to do this?

The only guy that I know of who manages this on a regular basis is Steve Morse. Check out some of his imposible pedal steel type bends and you will realize the value of being able to hold a bend with your pinky while you use the other fingers to grab non-bent notes.
I have at times tried to use my pinky for bending, but that finger just doesn't work for me http://www.zentao.com/ubb/frown.gif

I bend with my pinky. It's nothing special.

He also seemed to favor half-step bends where most rock guys tend to stick with whole-step bends.
That and basing his lines around chord shapes gave him such a tasty style. He was never a shredder, but he sure was inventive.

I've always made a point of using all my fingers when practicing bends.
Seems silly to ignore one finger and cut your options down by a quarter.
