sequence excercises needed!

im a novice( 1 year) and I want to start some sequences over my scales. I pretty much only do the minor pent( I love the blues!) but I want to switch direction a little more. a buddy mentioned sequencing, but Im not sure how..Id love some help!...Thanks

Sequencing is nothing more than taking a short melody or phrase and working it one note at a time through the scale.

Take something like this...

|-----------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------5-----
|---------------5------5--7--5---7----7--
|--5--8--5---8----8----------------------

and continue all the way up the pattern. Then work it back down the pattern.

there are tons of variations that you can do... be creative... look for patterns.
