After the entire mess with the very first band I was in ... playing one gig that amounted up to about 75 - 100 people, having better showmanship than the other band that played before us, getting compliments from people I know after the gig and many whom I never met, and even having an "after party", and finally being replaced without warning by another guitarist for no apparent reason I run back to resolve things for myself not only as a guitarist, but as a person. Almost two years ago....

Now, I come back not so much as the laxadazical rythm player, but an excited, ever learning, improving, semi-compitent lead player. The lead guitarist of the old band that teased me of my chops is now second rate, and the other one that replaced me is of par. Always composing, finding my "sound", "THE tone", my style, etc, and now finally wanting to get back up on that stage with people and share my hard work and passion with the rest of the world.

Jamming here and there gets me no where, but finally run into an old friend that took up the guitar that knew me back those two years ago and is blown away at the progress I've made, and wants to play in a band with me, and I even wind up helping him along the way, so our bond not only as guitarists, but as friends grow.

After getting the idea of where he would like to go with music and vice versa, we run into the old bass player of the band of two years past, and he is working full time, with a steady relationship. The other guitarist and I jam at the bass player's house for a while, and in the midst of doing this, he decides to pick up the bass and pluck away. We stop for a moment, then I play a composition of mine I had worked on while I was alone for all that time. Come to find out he had not lost much touch and even added in a catchy bass line to it.

As we wrap things up and call it a night, the idea of making a band is thrown at the bass player, but he is reluctant at first, saying he would not have much time to do such a thing. I told him he wouldn't have to do a lot, just practice when he had the time and get better, and that I would help him along the way, that I was doing the same for the other guitarist. He even mentions he has always wanted to be a singer, and he would also sing for this new band if it went through.

In closing, as I come back to try to redeem my disastrous events and decisions of the old band, and being a better player, I not only have to teach these two new "members" along the way, but now search for a decent drummer. I know I will enjoy every bit of the trials and errors, degrees of limitations, and experiences I have with this project, and possibly will learn a thing or two.

I can only hope I can get back in....

Two years of hard work? Yeah, you'll get "back in".

Yea, but I gotta find the people that are dedicated enough. That's hard to come by around here, but we'll find out.
