yup I am acutally assembling a guitar and making one as we speak. One is going to be a es335 copy, nothing speical (its a hollow body) and the strat is something else. You will have to keep checking this thread in order to see what wood the body of the strat is made out of etc. BUT here are the two projects. Oh yea the fretboard on the strat is pau ferrro! not rosewood

mmm so yummy!

here is the es335 copy i got from hofnerguy. It was plain maple so I went to stain it cherry red. I am still coating it darker but heres the pics in progress.

oh yea whats so speical about the guitar neck is that its a reverse headstock. Hendrix inspired of course.

and these are two projects in the making not one.

Holy hell, thats awesome!!!!
I love the 335 body. I myself am remaking a 335 guitar, still in the process of sanding down the body.
Where did you get the body from??
What sort of tones are you expecting from a bolt-on 335? It won't be true semi-hollow tones. Im thinking if you give it some single coils, with the bolt-on neck you could go far in the direction of strat tones (one reason I would quite like a bolt-on 335).

Kiwi, Use the pickups and harness that came with it. As I remember they sounded pretty good. Please tell me that you are going to finish sanding the body before putting any finish on it. It was only the edges left to go...... I had only used 80 grit paper on everything so it needs to be stepped down to a nice smooth finish to the wood. I would just clearcoat the neck, get some real tuners and paint the front of the headstock black. That was a good guitar, if you take your time you will have something there. I'm pretty certain that a Strat neckplate fits it, I can't find the original one. All I remember is the neckplate did say Made in Japan.

AWESOME! Thats one of the best looking strats I've seen, and I usually HATE sunburst. The combination of gold, cream and sunburst works beautifully.

Im REALLY interesting in seeing what you do with the 335, so hurry up!!!
