i saw a couple links in that supply thread sticky. looks like they have some pre fabbed parts.

if i wanted to build a guitar could i buy the parts(the body, **** like that, unfinished and just assemble it myself?
pick out a certain neck/head and everything else?

is it much more complicated than that?
i'm talking sand/stain/paint/assemble....

It's not hard to put the parts together.
I have a few guitars put together from parts and they're fun guitars to play. You can get a lot of tips on putting a guitar together on this board.

Zappa - Yes. LMI, Stewmac.com and Warmoth are all great suppliers of parts.

You can do it....

Well the finishing (staining, painting, etc) can be kind of complicated depending on what you want to do for the finish, but other than that it's really easy assembling parts.

I've taken my Strat copy apart several times and it taught me a lot.

The beauty of buying ready-to assemble parts is that you can get to know the construction of the electric guitar without all the woodwork...enabling you to more time concentrating on what sort of finish you would like and what sort of pups you'd like to install.

Some woodwork is involved though, measuring accurately plus sanding.

Some guys usually buy beat ups from Ebay, take 'em apart and re-assemble with mods.
