I know I already asked for plans. But if that's to much hassle or whatever then just some dimensions would be fine. I just need to know how deep? How wide? How far from the end of the fret board to the bridge? That sort of stuff. Any help is better than none thanking in advance Jmalv.

This is my first time building a guitar and I will probably make many a new thread so sorry. But I really do needalot of help this thing and I figured this was the best place to come :) :) :) CHEERS GUYS!

If you want an exact copy then borrow one for a weekend and copy it.

otherwise......

find the scale length and then work from photos to work out the rest.

For a couple of my builds I used a projector to throw a web image onto a big sheet of paper.........

just look at the scale length. my guitar is 25.5in. thats from the nut to the bend in the strings at the bridge.
a 24 fret fretboard for a guitar is 19.5in. with a standard trem bridge that should leave 5.5in for pups
(bridge extends .5in after saddles)

that projection idea is good, but i find it easier to scale it on the computer, trace it, and print out a wire-frame, and make a template.
but tracing on the computer is hard, and never comes out exact.

how deep?
guitars are usually 1.5in thick (it varys)
for pups it depends on the action. if the action is high, make the pups higher. if its low, make them lower. putting them in half way is usually good for high and low.
for the control cavity carve out as much as you need, but not to much. experiment on scrap first.

how wide?
guitars come in many shapes and sizes. my guitar (looks like strat) is 12in wide. and my bass is 12.5in. and my other bass is 13in.

any other questions i'll be happy to answer

(just a little info: i'm only 16, and have little experience with building, i might not be able to answer all of your questions)
