Can anyone give me useful information about playing like blues and jazz? Also any tips on funk would be nice too.

Sure. Don't start with jazz unless you already have a strong background with the guitar. Much of it is quite demanding technically.
Personally, I went HERE and DL'ed some backing tracks, (http://www.guitarbt.com/) then burned them to CD and set up a secondary amplifier near my guitar amp for the Diskman.
If I had a better amp, with CD-IN, the second setup would, of course, be unneccessary. Soon!
Then (and I'm guessing this works better if you are alone in the house...can be sorta embarrassing until you get the hang of it) start the CD and play a note on your guitar along with the music. Any note will do. If it sounds wrong, try another further down the neck.
Soon you'll find the key. Then let loose in Pentatonics or any other scale in that key. Have fun. This will get you started.
As for Blues tips....
It'll be lots easier to hit those minor chords if your wife leaves you for your best friend and runs over your favorite dog in the process.
To tune up for country, your ol' lady runs off with your buddy Cooter, and they steal your pickup truck--running over yer favorite Coon Hound on the way out of the trailer park.
It's all about the mindset, see... :D :drunk: :D
Enjoy yourself!!
