I have a friend Nick who lives 2 miles from me and he is 16 years old and I am 14, his brother has been best friends with me since 7 months of age and he is the same age as me. On saturday Nick was making a movie project for school and a freak accident happened. Nick got hit by the car because a friend got out and did not put it in park the car rolled over the top of him and he was trapped with no oxygen for about 8 minutes when the ambulance called the fire department (my dad is on it) and they rushed to the scene and got Nick out from under the car. He was air lifted to Sioux Falls hospital where he remained in critical condition for 3 days. I went to see him on tuesday and he was in a induced coma with no brain activity. I got word yesterday that he had passed away at the young age of 16. He wanted to be an organ doner and saved 8 others that night with his organs. After we heard that he died the school had a money drive for his family and I donated all of my guitar money to the cause and I almost had enough for the vintage g-400 and my epiphone valve jr. head but I am now starting at zero because I donated to this cause. It felt good to do this for Nicks family. He was like a brother to me because we even went to day care together and his grandparents even have a picture of me with all their grandchildren thats how close we were. Thanks for listening to my story and please pray for Nick's family.

Thanks again, catinthehat

Oh man, sorry to hear that. That's terrible. Way to go and try and help out though, more than the money it's the gesture. It'll come back full circle I think... I'm a believer in karma.

Dude, you have just done a GREAT deed, the feeling you must've got when you done that can NEVER be matched by the feeling of recieving material items, you gave everything you worked and saved for, and that says a LOT about your character. I, too, believe in Karma, and it owes you big time man. I'm extremely sorry to hear about this tragic loss, but you have my utmost respect for performing such a good deed.

Well done man, the world could use a few more of you, many kudos, and keep strong.

Good for you.

You'll get your gear eventually. Maybe it will be even sweeter then. "Nick" would be a great name for a guitar, too...

wow, sends chills through me to read your story. I'm real sorry to hear you lost your friend, your "other" brother. Giving all you had in his honor, his memory is a truly great sacrifice, a wonderful contribution to his honor. I know it will come back to you ten-fold.

Be strong.

I am a friend of catinthehats and I knew Nick as well just not as good as cat. 5 days after Nick was pronounced dead another friend of mines brother died from a firearm accident who went to the same school. On January 21st, a boy from our school held a benefit concert for the two families with about 10 bands playing. catinthehat, Nick's brother, and I decided to make a band only a month before the concert and had or debut there. We played Moneytalks by AC/DC and it went great.

Wow bro, im sorry for the loss. Unfortunately i know what you are going through, i lost a few friends last year to car related deaths, and its not easy, but yah gotta keep your head up not only for yourself but for the family and friends around you.

Im a huge believer in the concept of Karma, and don't worry mate, its only money for now, but your contribution made a lasting effect that wont be forgot.

Your family and friends are in my prayers.
