View Full Version : Having some fun with an Auto Wah

Hi guys and girls.
After a long slump, I went back to an old BT and just started playing again.
I used an Auto Wah for the effect, and it just seemed to rejuvenate me.
I think the mix is either too hot, or the effect is.
I just had fun gettin' it on:)

niice. Very groovy :p I never knew Auto wahs could sound like that. I always though, why would anyone get an Auto Wah effect? Whenever I use mine it just sounds like a..well I dunno, just doesn't sound like that, lol.

Playing was amazing obviously, but I don't dig the effect...
It was too much "WAH" and not enough subtle little wahs or a little treble boost. Like you know how you can rock the wah pretty far back and than put your toe down and get that huge "WAH"? Sounded like a lot of that, which I personally don't dig.
But hey, who am I to talk? lol.

That sounds cool. I myself would like to know how to correctly use auto wah. It's on my amp...but I'm not sure how to utilize it.

Ya VIO, I hear you on that one. I really didn't set the attack, sensitivity and polarity up when I did this. Just more of go with what is going.
Once I get my JH Wah, I'll be good to go as far as using the foot to gain the feel for it. This was something I got for 10 bucks, and I could not pass up a deal for that lol.
I'll work more on getting to sounds more natural.
Thanks for the input:)

I like it, the tone and the playing. I've always liked auto wah and Q effects, great for that early Jimmy Page vibe.

Wish I could play like that after a slump. Sounded cool, my first thought, the way it comes on was "Nothing like going for the jugular"
