Hi, Boys and Girls!
This is The Tingly Man, announcing my new "office."
Mmmm, yes. Sit right down in one of the plush chairs, and feel free to discuss the issues of the day. :013:
Aren't these chairs great? I ordered them especially for you. From Ikea.:luv:
It's very informal here. So, you can have a smoke, if you want to. :smoke:
Or, you can have a drink.:_drink: "Virtually," of course.
You can even slip out of your clothes, and discuss things au naturelle, if you'd like :bum: (just don't tell us about it, and don't try to post any pictures!!! :D ).
I hope you enjoy yourself here, and maybe we can all learn something, together. :011:
Let me know if you have any ideas for Podcasts :stereo:, or the News Thread :google , what things YOU want to hear about, or want to see discussed, or anything else under the sun.

In the short time I've been here, I've learned more things about the world from Tingly than by flipping on the news channels. :D
Good job!

congrats my friend! you are the Heartbeat of JS.
i'd love to hear a podcast with Lazybee. Jery Dean has forgotten more about music than i'll ever know, played regularly with ROB HALFORD after he left priest, has recently had a song published, and is a DJ at an .......ahem................'Gentleman's club' in Nashville.
congrats again tingly!

smoke63b, isn't that an amazing statistic? Yes, three guitars from one table! BUT, I've also heard that you can get one REALLY GOOD coffee table, out of three cheap guitars.
So go figure...
Boristhespider, you may be a spider, but you are a very nice spider. Thanks for your vote of confidence...

Codeybratt17, that's is very kind of you to say. I hope we can all continue to educate each other. I have learned a ton of stuff here, from nearly everyone, without question.
Mr. Powell, thank you for your kind sentiments. You make an excellent suggestion! I, too, have noted the unusual skills, the interesting stories of past experiences, and writing ability, of the Honey Hunting Indolent Stinger-Man. Unfortunately, Mr. Dean is NOT on my list, at this time. Perhaps you can use your considerable skills to induce him to agree to "a gentle grilling" by The Tingly Man at some time in the future? :hands:

I also note a certain "Mr. reissue" is also missing from my list. I would love to get my hands on :eating: -- ahem...I mean, I would like to interview him also very much...

So we this is a thread for talking about current day issues? So how much like the mosh is this inteded to be like? Or is this more news on music or news on people on the site? I dont wana break any rules or nothing, ya know? Plus im interested in exaclty what this new area is made for.
Congrats on your new office tingly, glad that your out of that lame cubicle you were jammed into and forced to deal with. :) BTW I love the first post, its like a little kids book. Pictures everywhere. Made it so much easier for me to read. :)

Tingly have you thought about posting written interviews? Might make a faster, easier alternative to teh podcasts. You know, come up with some questions, email them to the interviewee, post each one in their own thread. Might make for some interesting reading for those of us (me) who do mostly nothin' at work all day. And some of the more squeemish folks might be more likely to type out responses to you than broadcast on the "air" as it were, lol.
You know what, screw it, I'm gonna do this myself, lol. I'd like interview some people and see if I can't get a big shiney sticky or two our of it, lol.

Congrats Tingly! I can assure you the drinks I have while reading this forum will not be just virtual!!! :drunk:
About this list you keep mentioning. How do you go about getting someone on the list? I for one would LOVE to hear an interview with Lazy Bee. Mr. Boston would be cool too.

Acoustic-
What I meant was that I wrote this introductory thread, in particular, to find out "if you have any ideas for Podcasts, or the News Thread, what things YOU want to hear about, or want to see discussed, or anything else under the sun."
It certainly is not like the Mosh Pit. I would just like to know if you have any ideas or suggestions fo me...

Mr. Boston - you have a great idea there. Please follow up on it!

March 5th, 2007, 06:41 AM
How do you go about getting someone on the list?
Prez-
Usually people either PM me that they are "willing to be interviewed," or they foolishly write it, publicly, in a thread.
Then I "got the goods on 'em" and can remind them about it later... :rotf:

MM hm, nice office you get here Tingly, these chairs sure are plush.
One thing that would be nice though is if you kept a humidor, kept nicely stocked up with Cuban's, and a few bottle's of single malt. Can't smoke a cigar without some single malt or good ale.
Keep up the good work Tingly.

Good ideas, Daniel. I'll put those items "on the list." I like how you think! Let me know if you need an unpaid job. I can always use good reporters...

I would put in a job app, but I've got a lot of coursework these days (booo) and so have annoyingly short a time to do something like that.
I could always be the officail "Person who is in charge of choosing ale's, ciders, whisky's and cigars".

Since we'll all be spending a lot of time in here, we need a classy smoke that we can take a few hours over, a Monte Cristo "A" should suffice.

The one on the right.
As for whisky, Glengoyne Single Malt 21 years aged.
For ale, we need some Hobgoblin, Moorland Old Speckled Hen, Sharps Doombar and Meantime London Porter.
Tingly, you get that lot at your office, I'm moving in!

Whoa, before I get started.. Daniel that is one HUGE Cigar
Oh yeah, 9 1/4''.
THAT one arrived broken, I'm going to send it back and the company that I order from has said they will send a replacement and to send that one back at my leisure. It was an expensive beast though, can't wait to get the new one and smoke it, gonna head up to my faveourite pub and take an hour and a half.
When I have the money, I'm going to order a cigar thats nearly twice as long as that one, just for kicks and giggles.
I like this office already, I got a great job selecting cigar's and whisky and ale, and a comfy chair.
To add to the cigar collection, some la Rica Robusto's would be nice, not too expensive but very nice.
Nice.
Thanks Tinglyman.

NIIIIICE spot here Tingly man, hooked up! I like the ambience in here, very conducive to making people talk. Wasn't sure if I should post in here or not but I guess people are so why not! Congratulations on your little corner here, I'll have to finish up listening to the podcasts...they're like my Sunday "radio show" I listen to sometimes.

Thanks to all you guys for your wonderful support.
This place is a great community.
Although we must never forget its basic premise, this great forum has become far more than just some folks who hang around and talk about guitars...

So are there any new podcasts planned/being performed yet? If not, what's gonna happen!? lol.
Tingly love the 'casts, get some more!

July 29th, 2008, 07:20 AM
Well, thank you very much for that, ArcanaFang. I really would like to do that, but technically they are VERY challenging and very time consuming.
Due to personal reasons, I cannot do any podcasts right now. But, if there is a change in my circumstances, and the opportunity presents itself again, I will pounce on it!
Thanks again for your interest!

ALICIA KEYS SELLING TIX QUIETLY
There's been no official tour announcement, but a handful of new Alicia Keys [ tickets ] dates have been trickling in over the last week.
The superstar, who wrapped a North American arena tour last month, is hitting the trail again in September and, this time, she's visiting theaters. So far, she's got eight shows scheduled across the US and one in Vancouver. Details are listed below.
Keys continues to support her third studio album, "As I Am," which surfaced in November and became the biggest debut for a female R&B artist in SoundScan history, according to a press release. The set moved more than 742,000 units in its first week and spent several non-consecutive weeks atop The Billboard 200. It has since scored triple-platinum status and spawned the hit singles "Like You'll Never See Me Again," "Teenage Love Affair" and "No One," the latter of which won two Grammy Awards. The video for Keys' new single, "Superwoman," is streaming at her website.
The singer's recent "As I Am" tour doubled as a text-message donation campaign that helped raise more than $40,000 for the Keep A Child Alive organization, which provides anti-viral drugs to millions suffering from AIDS in Africa. Keys took a few moments out of each concert to show a clip from her film "Alicia in Africa: Journey to the Motherland" and encourage fans to make a donation.
In other Keys news, the songstress has joined fellow multi-Grammy-winning artist Jack White to record the theme song for the 22nd James Bond adventure, "Quantum of Solace." The song, "Another Way to Die," will be the first duet in Bond soundtrack history, according to a press release. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in November and the soundtrack is due October 28.
